Role Overview
The Junior Store & Stock Controller will work in our receiving and dispatch store. You’ll assist in managing the flow of parts into and out of the warehouse / store, help maintain stock accuracy, support dispatch and receipt of goods, and ensure the store operations run smoothly. You’ll be working closely with warehouse/store staff, dispatch teams, procurement and sales/inventory functions.
Key Responsibilities
Examples of duties:
- Receive incoming shipments: check delivery notes, inspect goods for damage, verify part numbers and quantities, and record receipts.
- Unpack, sort and store goods in correct locations (bins, racks) and update the store/inventory system.
- Pick and dispatch orders: gather parts for outgoing orders (internal and external), verify items against order sheets, prepare and pack goods for delivery or collection.
- Coordinate dispatch scheduling: liaise with transport/logistics or the sales team to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Conduct regular stock counts / cycle counts, reconcile physical stock with system inventory, investigate and report discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels: flag low-stock items, assist with reorder tasks or alert purchasing to replenishment needs.
- Maintain housekeeping in the store/warehouse: ensure goods are stored safely, stock is labelled correctly, and store areas are clean and organized.
- Assist with returns or warranty items: receive return parts, inspect, document and process according to company policy.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in store operations: help improve picking accuracy, reduce errors, minimize damage or waste.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with internal stakeholders (sales, procurement, warehouse, transport).
- Follow company WHS / safety protocols in the store/warehouse environment.
Requirements
- Minimum: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy (MS office, Windows operating systems)
- Good attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and ability to work with numbers/quantities.
- Able to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and meet dispatch deadlines.
- Physically fit and able to handle store/warehouse tasks (lifting, moving stock) safely.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and integrity-driven.
- Must be based in Pretoria (or close by) and able to get to the store/warehouse reliably.
- Reliable transport to get to work daily.
- If you are not willing to begin from the bottom and work your way up then this job is not for you.
